My Experiences with Mike Brady
Back in May of 2002, when I first began posting material online about free
energy, one of the first emails I received was from Michael J. Brady, then in
Johannesburg, telling me about his all-magnet motor. I struck up a
friendship and business relationship with him that lasted off and on since then,
starting out very serious.
He was going to fly to the U.S. to demonstrate his motor across the country, and
I was helping to both schedule those appearances and establish various business
connections to launch the technology into the marketplace. At least three
different times he had plane tickets then had to cancel, the last time being
because the magnets were degaussing due to the aluminum material in the rotor
and stator creating eddy currents. So he changed out the material to
polypropylene (plastic), keeping the same aluminum frame.
In December of 2002, a couple of associates and I traveled to Johannesburg to
see his motor, but we couldn't get it operational in the week we were
there. Two months later, on Feb. 21, 2003, he sent us a video showing the unit
rotating. It wasn't skeptic proof inasmuch as he doesn't do his
walk-around during acceleration, but it does have attributes of legitimacy, such
as the rocking motion during start-up and stopping as the magnets cog.
I've always maintained that I believe that the video was genuine, though I
certainly understand why some would be skeptical about the possibility of a
cheater device behind the motor during acceleration.
We were poised to handle manufacturing and sales in the U.S., but his high price
tag and lack of producing evidence of operation and patent information chilled
our negotiations, though I did come back to the negotiations-discussion table
with him a few times thereafter. We purchased http://Perendev.com,
which we still own, forwarding to our coverage at PESWiki.com We even
tried to do a 1/4-scale replication of the motor, with his permission, based on
his blueprints, but couldn't get it to run.
On June 29, 2004,
he gave me permission to post
that video, which has now been seen by millions around the
planet. The one I uploaded
to YouTube is the most-watched video of the 128 videos I've posted at PESNetwork
so far.
Since that time, the Perendev motor has become perhaps the best-known magnet
motor technology, though thousands of people are chasing the objective of
getting a working magnet motor to market.
In 2005, Brady moved to Germany and shifted his focus from the magnet
motor to an electromagnetic version he allegedly came up with, announcing
in Feb. of 2006 that a 300 kW electromagnetic motor was available for sale.
On Feb. 17, 2007, in a one-hour interview
with him on our Free Energy Now radio show, he said that he had been in
production since July of 2006, and that they were manufacturing around 20
to 30 units per month. He also said he would open source the magnet motor
technology that gave rise to the electromagnetic variation. That never
happened. Nor were we able to find anyone who had received a manufactured
unit. Brady didn't even have a photo on his hard drive that he could send
us when we asked for one.
He took a lot of people's money (half down for purchase), but I don't know of
anyone who actually received a unit.
Why I'm Telling All, After All These Years
Now, in July of 2010, given that
I have therefore decided to go ahead and publish as much key information as I have about the
motor that might not already be available from other sources. The third
point above is the primary reason that I no longer feel the need to keep a lid
on what I know.
I don't think replicating it exactly as I describe will result in a working
unit, but there may be some info that may help those of you who are giving it a
try no matter what.
I know of at least one person (not yet verified, but circumstantial evidence is
strong) who has been able to replicate a variation of the Perendev motor and has
been powering a modern house with it for nearly 9 months now with no problems.

where I've compiled quite a bit of information over the years. They are
listed in the "See also" section below.
I'd love to see this technology validated and introduced to the public for
practical use. I wouldn't mind being part of that endeavor, but nor would
I mind if someone did it without me. I primarily want to see it make a
difference on the planet. I hope this info helps.

Hello Sterling,
In response to your message requesting elaboration on my knowledge of the Perendev design, I'd like to clarify that I have never met Michael Brady; and did not witness his machine running first hand. Though,
I have built several magnetic motors including one very similar to the Perendev design, and I know how little they actually output when connected to an alternator. The nine kilowatt output rating, as stated by Brady in another video, is way too high, less than 1 kilowatt being far more likely, even for such an optimized system, but is still a high estimate.

Hello Sterling,
Unfortunately, most of my projects are salvaged for parts to be used in other projects. My lab is very ill equipped, as proper equipment is incredibly expensive, so I try to make do with what is available to me in an effort to save money and time. Luckily, the parts required for these
particular projects are very inexpensive and readily available.
I am a --- by trade and have recently been accepted to work at ---. Though, the tremendous workload will prevent me from pursuing my extracurricular activities, engineering being just one of them, I will try and rebuild the original working magnetic motor whenever time allows me to do so. If I get to finish it, I'll post the end product, with an in-depth description of it's inner workings, onto youtube.com and perhaps ehow.com or similar.
I realize how much interest there is in magnetic motors, which was mainly why I myself became interested in them. There is a lot of misinformation being spread about them, perpetual motion related nonsense mostly, Brady's claims certainly didn't help matters, casting a bad light on the people doing honest work. The design is very basic without frills, the Perendev design is just an extension of the same basic design, regardless of what all of these "internet people" say,
it works.
I'll let you know sometime in the future when the project has been completed and where you can find the video. It's good to see people who actually care about alternative energy. Thank you for your interest.
